Hello to everyone, I am Karen and I currently live in Chapel Hill, NC. I am originally from Kennebunk, Maine which will always be home. I have never been fortunate enough to own horses but that has not stopped me from loving them. I have had several breeds of dogs, my first was a thingyer spaniel/scottish terrier mix, then a Kerry Blue Terrier, followed by a West Highland White Terrier, 2 adopted racing Greyhounds and now a 5 year old Airedale Terrier.

Hi, I live in Canada at the moment but will be moving to WA sometime within the next year or so. I'm engaged, have no children, but have 1 cat and 3 horses that are boarding in WA & Texas and all of them are the first loves of my life! (fiance is content with being further down the list. lol) I used to own horses when I was in my teens, they were all rescue or meat market bound, but all of them had issues to be understood before I could finally find 'them' underneath and I never regretted welcoming them into my life! I just happened to stumble across this site when I was looking for a good farm to board my horses at and thought Gus was very handsome! I have also been reading about Sissy and felt the heartbreak all over again... Anyways, that's all I have to say about myself I guess. Kelly

I had to put the horses on a back burner for a while when my children were young. I could never quite give them up, but got down to just one. I know how you feel when you say they are all the love of your life. I cannot imagine my life without horses. I wish my husband shared my love for them, but unfortunately he does not. He puts up with it though.... My kids on the other hand both love them like me. I read your post about looking for boarding and it sounds like you have some very nice mares. I wish you the best of luck in finding a great place to board them. Sissy is improving daily. I really think she is turning out to be a very sweet girl and look forward to seeing what her baby has to bring. Lori

Thank you for the welcome, Lori! My Fiance is usually glued to his computer (with work and all) so he thinks horses are a novelty right now. Besides, I 'encouraged' him to give the palomino colt his barn name, so he's rather proud at the moment. I'm sure that'll wear off in a few years and by then it'll be too late! ;D I hope I can find a farm willing to take them on, they're good girls (and boy) and deserve better than being confined to stalls nearly all day and I don't like a trainer who thinks slapping my colt on the rump or anywhere else for that matter is a perfectly acceptable training method! I'm happy that Sissy is starting to do so well, I'm truly concerned about her foal though, having been deprived of nutrients all this time and what affect that'll have on it. Anyways, I had better get some work done today. Thank you once again for the welcome, I sincerely appreciate it. Kelly
