Hello, my name is Kelly and I am looking for a farm very close to Redmond to board my horses with.
I don't really want a boarding stable, a private farm would be sort of ideal.
The kind of place I'm looking for must have plenty of pasture for my horses to roam on and get turned out on with daily care and a box stall in the barn for inclement weather. They must have exceptional training skills with no outdated, barbaric training methods (IE: hitting horses, etc) and kind, caring, gentle training hands. It must be capable of housing and training a future stallion as I have a colt that I'm keeping to show.
I'd also appreciate a place well versed in broodmare care as both my mares are breeding mares. Both mares will be breeding by AI to a variety of the top Western Pleasure stallions and perhaps the odd Halter stallion.
To let you know about each horse, I'll give some background on them.
Mare 1: 1991 QH palomino mare. Extensively shown, Directly out of: Zippo Pine Bar x Skip's Brick. She is in Texas being bred to Zips Chocolate Chip this year and will be shipped to WA if she catches. She is a sweet, gentle mare although will pin her ears when you're around her food.
Mare 2: 2001 QH buckskin mare. No show record. Dam of 1 palomino colt. Directly out of: Investment Asset x Zippo Pine Bar.
She is being bred to Hot Scotch Man this year and is residing in WA. She's a sweet, gentle mare and an excellent mother but can have her moments with humans when she gets grumpy.
Colt 1: 2006 QH palomino colt. Will be shown in the future then retired to stallion duties on a suitable farm. Directly out of: Zips Chocolate Chip x Investment Asset. Only 2 months old and not weaned off his dam yet. He's curious, a brat and loves to run and kick up his heels. He's a great colt with a delicate trot and excellent conformation.
If the right farm and people are found perhaps some deals can be worked out regarding some breedings to the colt or a free lease to one or more of my mares future daughters. Use of either the buckskin or palomino mare is not an option.
I'm not rich and spent nearly every penny I had on these mares, so monthly boarding fees of $400 to $500 for each horse is out of my price range. They are the most important things to me and I only want to find a nice, caring temporary home for them until I save up for my own farm in the future.
If you have a farm that suits my needs please e-mail me at: serenity@golden.net. A background check (to make sure it's a good, respectable farm and won't run away with my horses) and perhaps references will be required of all farms.
Thank you for your time,
Kelly Adams
