I feel this was fate... so my old gal Style will be coming home to live again. I was just playing around on the computer waiting for dinner to finish cooking.... I sometimes just think of a horse and google it, mainly stallions. I was trying to think of who to search next when this mare came to mind.... so I searched her sire. One of the first ads that came up was a craigslist ad in Oregon (luckily they had listed her sire and dam). There was my old horse advertised for hardly nothing. I thought about ignoring it, but just couldn't..... I inquired. I just about fell off my chair when I got the reply..... she was at a feedlot in E. Wash ready to be shipped for slaughter. Needless to say I HAD to move. I filled out the adoption application yesterday and was approved. She needs to go into quarantine for a couple weeks mainly because I don't have any place to keep her away from our horses....so she has been moved to a ranch and will stay there until the first weekend in December when I can finally bring her home where she will get some TLC and be loved. Here is the picture from the ad... she is very thin and looks sad.

Oh, the poor thing! Once she gets home to you she'll be looking amazing in no time. It's sad that no one tried to find you via her papers before ending up at the feed lot. I'm glad that you found her and can't wait to hear about her recovery!!

It just makes me so sad to see her looking the way she does in the rescue photo's above. I recently read something on Craigslist about slaughter in Mexico. Don't ask me why, but I looked it up today and watched a few HORRID video's. I am so THANKFUL I found Style in time before she was shipped off. Now if we could stop the shipment of US horses to Canada and Mexico for slaughter I would be soooo much happier!
