Just got back from fair..... Results inside:

Well, the kids had a fantastic fair. The weather didn't cooperate much it was rainy, cold and breezy almost the whole time we were there. It felt more like Feb. rather than Aug.! Got home exhausted, needing a shower and our own beds!

Jason showed our black mare, Connie in aged greenhorse. She was broke when younger, then became a broodmare. She is now going on 20 and between last year and this year she has had about 3.5 months of riding/training. My son's favorite class is NOT showmanship, so he didn't practice much at all for that and then was rushed to make it to his class so just got to glance at the pattern and didn't do the pattern quite correct. Both kids showed Cookie.

Jason and Connie's results:
3rd in Showmanship
Grand champion in Western Pleasure
Grand champion in Western Horsemanship (same as eq.)
Reserve champion in trail

Jason and Cookie's results in regular:
Showmanship - no placing
Equitation - no placing
Western Pleasure - Reserve champion

This section is a lot of very tough teenage girls! I think he has decided he now wants to start riding for medals so maybe he will put a little more time into it.

Jenna and Cookie:
Showmanship - 3rd (I thought she aced this class, but the judge saw it differently)
Western Pleasure mares - Reserve champion
Bareback equitation - Reserve champion
Equitation - Reserve champion
Trail - 4th

Thanks Amanda.... they did have a great time. We all came home exhausted. We didn't do much at all yesterday just felt really good to be home. Two of us even took a nap.

I think we might try a novice AQHA show in a couple weeks.... that is if we can get Connie in a shanked bit. I don't think they offer aged greenhorse at the AQHA shows. ;D
