Hi Jennifer,
I sure like her, she is turning out to be a real sweetie. I wish the weight would hurry up and get back on her it seems it is taking forever. She has hay in front of her all the time.... now that she is on pasture too maybe that will help. I'm guessing it is taking a little longer too because she is in foal and maybe the foal has been taking what he/she needs.

WOW...she is looking great. how is the rain rot coming along?? i can give you a cure that works and is cheap and probably under your kitchen counter right now. i have an arab i just rescued in august and he had rain rot, since it is a fungus i treated it with lysol. i know, the first time several years ago when i tried it i was skeptical, but it really works. take a gal jug, pour one capful of regular unscented lysol in the jug and fill with water. bath the horse as usual, rinse, then pour this mixture on them. leave it on. course if the horse is big you might need 2 gallons done up. and with in the week the scabs will start coming off and you will see new hair growth. and before you know it *poof* rain rot all gone simple, cheap and easy. i won't spend money on those fungus products in the stores any more. this is all i use. ps...keep up the great job with the mare. she really looks great.

Thank you for the advice. I ended up buying some type of tea tree rinse that worked really well. I also used MicroTek. The rainrot is gone and her skin is looking healthy again. I will keep that lysol treatment just in case I need it in the future.

WOO HOO is that the same Sissy we know and Love ! She looks great. Look at the shine on the coat now. She has put on alot of weight Lori, maybe you dont see because you see her everyday. The ribs are almost covered, the butt is filling in and best of all the Sparkle in her eye is there again. That grass will put some weight on, she is content and happy.
Your doing a great job and I cant wait to see the foal all healthy and big too.
Have a great day.

Sissy has been enjoing her new digs and was out there running Saturday.... she looked magnificant! That will help her build muscle so that she is in better shape for foaling. When I saw these photo's I did really notice a difference... you are right I do see a sparkle in her eyes and did notice the shine to her coat.

I can't thank you enough for sending me an email alert to see Sissy's newest pictures. Her improvement is remarkable and your should be very proud of her and yourself for caring enough to rescue her and her unborn foal. Blessings.
