All the gray you see is her skin! She has new hair coming in... but in the meantime looks rather bald. You can even see it more on this side. Look at that bald hip. Her skin is starting to look so much healthier and less flaky. I know it is hard to tell by these photos....Not the best shot, but you can see she is starting to get some life to her eyes, and a little shine to her coat (and skin ).Here you can see how much bigger her belly is getting and SHE HAS STARTED TO FORM A BAG.....I sure hope I still have at least a few weeks left as I am really not ready yet.... I haven't really had horses at my place in a while and need to clean out my feed/tack room as that is what I used in the past for a foaling stall. It is a good size, approx. 14 x 16. I guess I better be working on that in my spare time.

I went back to the pics you first posted of her and looked at each set up to this last batch of pics and even though she has lost her hair, she looks so much better. I can see she has added weight and she looks more alert in the pics. You still have a long way to go with her, but she is getting there. Bless you taking on this mare and giving her a new life and a much better life.

I know we still have a long way to go. I just wish I could make it sooner.

She really has come quite a ways since you got her. But still some ways to go. She'll get there.
Kinda scary about the bag starting to form. I know you are hoping for more time before that happens. Yup, better get that stall fixed up LOL

Yep, think I better. I called the owner of the stallion tonight. This foal is the result of an accidental breeding. The stallion got into the pasture with boarders mares. Sissy's former owner said June, but I was told not to believe everything she says. Anyway I was hoping the stallion owner would remember, but he doesn't. I did ask if I could come see the stallion so will be making that visit soon.

She sure is looking good. Filling out nicely, the results are slow but definitely there. Yepper I see a bright eyed happy mare there. You are going a great job with her.
The bag well, you cant stop nature. Lets all hope she holds out for a bit longer for you. Anxious to see what the stallion turns out to be. Good luck on your adventure to see him.
Have a great day and kisses to Sissy.

I am not a horse owner but definately a horse lover. I have been looking at poor Sissy's pix and can really tell the difference. She is starting to look great and you can see the beginning of a really happy mare. Keep us posted (as I know you will) best of luck. Will you post pix of the stallion on Sissy's page?

Hi Lori!
You should be so proud of the work you are doing with Sissy!! Compared to the other photos she is definitely looking better, and has a spark in her eye now! Do you have a guess as to when she might foal? Keep us posted....

I will try to post pictures.... He is an older guy, I think a 1985 model. He is a fairly well bred Paint.

Hi Lori! Thanks for posting new pictures of Miss Sissy. She's looking so much better and with all your care and love she's going to be so healthy and happy. Hope she holds off on having that lil bun in her oven too!
