Pic of Style 12/3 right after p/u from hauler.... « Result #1 on Dec 5, 2009, 1:03am »
She led me right to the pasture and wants up in "her" barn. Right now I'm keep her and Lacey separated until I'm sure Style isn't sick. She really liked being loved on and followed me around like a puppy dog. I really think she remembers home and remembers me. I was just in tears when I saw the condition she is in. She is covered with muck... she is so thin.
Keep your fingers crossed we can get her healthy again. She sure is a sad sight compared to the video above from 10/6/09.... at least she had shine to her coat and a little bit of meat on her bones then.

Happy "Belated" Thanksgiving! « Result #3 on Nov 27, 2009, 11:10pm »
Hope you all had a great day with family and friends! We had dinner at our house with a small amount of family. It was very nice and I am so blessed to have a wonderful husband, two awesome kids, fabulous parents and a wonderful family.
Now to start focusing on Christmas!
Next weekend if all goes well and the weather cooperates, I'll be driving over to pick up Style.

It just makes me so sad to see her looking the way she does in the rescue photo's above. I recently read something on Craigslist about slaughter in Mexico. Don't ask me why, but I looked it up today and watched a few HORRID video's. I am so THANKFUL I found Style in time before she was shipped off. Now if we could stop the shipment of US horses to Canada and Mexico for slaughter I would be soooo much happier!

Oh, the poor thing! Once she gets home to you she'll be looking amazing in no time. It's sad that no one tried to find you via her papers before ending up at the feed lot. I'm glad that you found her and can't wait to hear about her recovery!!

I feel this was fate... so my old gal Style will be coming home to live again. I was just playing around on the computer waiting for dinner to finish cooking.... I sometimes just think of a horse and google it, mainly stallions. I was trying to think of who to search next when this mare came to mind.... so I searched her sire. One of the first ads that came up was a craigslist ad in Oregon (luckily they had listed her sire and dam). There was my old horse advertised for hardly nothing. I thought about ignoring it, but just couldn't..... I inquired. I just about fell off my chair when I got the reply..... she was at a feedlot in E. Wash ready to be shipped for slaughter. Needless to say I HAD to move. I filled out the adoption application yesterday and was approved. She needs to go into quarantine for a couple weeks mainly because I don't have any place to keep her away from our horses....so she has been moved to a ranch and will stay there until the first weekend in December when I can finally bring her home where she will get some TLC and be loved.
Here is the picture from the ad... she is very thin and looks sad.

Re: Hey Lori! « Result #7 on Oct 25, 2009, 1:31pm »
Hey Amanda!
I haven't done a very good job of staying in touch either. I also wonder where did the year go??? Thank you for your thoughts and kind words for Pauly. I still have my moments especially at feeding time when the isn't there to greet me with her nicker.
Hmmm... Maybe I didn't post the results from the shows here. I'm very proud of the two yearlings Hank and Lily. In Spokane you never would have known it was their first show. Lily won her trail in hand class, 1st under all judges, Hank was 2nd with 3-2nds and a 3rd. They didn't place as well in longe line, but did behave very well. Two weeks later we went to Albany, Lily went 1st under all judges in longe line and trail in hand. Hank was 2nd right behind her. It's so nice to be showing again, but it is not cheap!
Family is doing great. My son woke up sick today.... Praying it's not H1N1. Only my son showed at fair, all went well. With Labor Day being so late my daughter didn't want to miss school, so skipped fair. Hey I can't complain... Shes got her priorities straight. LOL. One foal due in April out of Lacy. Only bred the one. How about you... Any mares due?
So nice to hear from you too. Give the critters and kids an extra hug for us.
Ok, so I'm in the process of updating things today and along with that is me trying to play catch up. Wow where has the year gone? huh? I don't know either, lol. I've seen you on FB a few times, but I can't seem to keep up with that these days either. But the kids are in school, things are almost done for winter, and the days seem to slow down.
I know this is late, but my condolences for the loss of Pauly. I know how much you all loved her
I hope your shows went good. I don't see any postings from when you got back. Hopefully you were able to grab some pics of them while they were there. I bet their all growing like weeds. Nitro has sure come a long way since his baby days. I wish I could show him but things are just too tight, yet again, oh wait, isn't that how it always is? LOL!!
How's the family doing? Did the kids go to fair this year? I can't remember. I hope everyone is well down there, try not to wash away in the rain we've been getting. Hmmm, any foals due this coming year?
I'd better get out and feed before I make dinner. You guys all take care and pass some extra carrots around for us:)

Interested in breeding to Color To Impress? « Result #9 on Sept 23, 2009, 9:23am »
Great opportunity to buy one of his breedings this weekend. Check out http://www.nwssa.com Color To Impress aka Gus is one of the 50 stallions being offered during this Stallion Service Auction. The great thing about purchasing his breeding through the NWSSA... It is the only way to have a weanling eligible for one of the highest paying futurities in the NW. Not only would your foal be eligible for this futurity but ALSO for the PNPHC and NW Breeders Futurity. From what I recall last year, 1st place in the weanling divisions of the NWSSA futurity paid out right at $6000.00. Not too shabby. So don't miss out. Check out the website and bid today!!!

that I announce the passing of our beloved mare Pauly. She was 27 years young and I never dreamed we would lose her this soon. She was crippled up and she is now running pain free in greener pastures.... may we meet again someday my dear friend. You will be greatly missed.
Re: WHO'S COMING TO VISIT??? « Result #16 on Sept 8, 2009, 12:30pm »
Hi I am Anna... I live in Kent, Washington (which is about 15 miles south of Seattle)... I usually say it the halfway point between Seattle and Tacoma... I met Lori at the Evergreen state fair last month. Had a great time at the fair and it was great to finally meet Lori. I believe I originally met Lori through KMK paint horses (sorry if I am wrong lol)...
I dont have horses now. I had 2 Quarter Horse years years ago. Easter Crickette (Crickette) was a Bay Quarter Horse mare and Belles Annie Bee (Annie) was a Sorrel Quarter Horse mare. I really miss owning horses.
I am married. We will be celebrating 7 years on October 1st. We are going to drive down to Las Vegas for our Anniversary. That is where we got married so that is our favorite place to go.. No children at this time. I love going to horse shows and also dog shows. Even though I dont have either. Unfortunately I live in the house my in laws own (and unfortunately despite all my efforts we dont get along very well lol)... and my in laws dont like animals so I cant have a dog which drives me nuts lol... We cant have cats due to my husbands allergies..

Before we take Lily and Hank to their first show. They will be showing in longe line and trail in hand.
Also showing Juana Be Red Hot (aka Lil Juan), a weanling filly by our boy, Color To Impress and out of BDB Peaches N Cream (x Terrific Juan). She is a sweetie and will be offered for sale after the show. If I didn't have so many already, I would be snatching this girl up!
